Vesta was founded in 2003 as a spin-off of the Matheon “Mathematics for Key Technologies” research center, whose activities were taken over by the Math+ cluster of excellence.

Matheon had a pioneering role in the development of modeling, simulation and optimization for real processes in all key technology areas.

The founders’ research focus was to provide these technologies in an intuitive platform so that non-experts could get agile access to the latest mathematical and IT methods.
